Question 1: How much does it cost?

The CTH HeartScreen can cost as little as $0 -- absolutely free for qualifying students at your school. Through the healthcare system, our HeartScreen process can cost upwards of $1,000 per student and most insurance companies won't reimburse you unless the student has a history of heart-related issues. We charge a deeply discounted fee and make regular donations to help support heart-related research and youth health. We're investing in the future of your child's heart.


Question 2: Does the HeartScreen hurt?

No! The CTH HeartScreen is a completely painless and non-ivasive procedure. There is no pain.


Question 3: Are you a big corporation?

Capture The Heart is a charity organization lead by a handful of skilled, passionate individuals who want your student athletes to live longer, healither lives through early detection of heart-related issues. We offer free and low cost heart screenings across FL and GA. Our charity donates back into public awareness, heart health, research, and equipment.

Question 4: How common is HCM and SCA in student athletes?

Over 2,000 teen and college athletes die each year in the United States from unknown HCM. Increased activity and continued activity, like being involved in sports, running, etc. only increase the chance of heart-related health issues. It's important to detect possible issues early.


Question 5: Are there warning signs?

In some cases, the first symptom may be death. Possible warning signs for students with SCA include shortness of breath, unexplained chest pains, random fainting, and a family history of others with SCA. If not properly treated, SCA is fatal is over 90% of cases. This is called the "silent killer" in schools with any kind of sports.


Question 6: Is HCM and SCA like a heart attack?

No. Some people with HCM have no signs. SCA comes on suddenly (hence the name), and the heart stops beating instantly. With a heart attack, the person could still be aware of their surroundings during the attack.
